The scheme, implemented by the Industries and Commerce Department, UT of Puducherry, came into force on 1st April 2017 and is currently operational. It aims to encourage capital-intensive investments by offering subsidies on land, building, plant, and machinery for new and existing enterprises.
Details
• The scheme supports Micro, Small, Medium, and Large Enterprises, including Women/SC/ST entrepreneurs
• Offers capital investment subsidies ranging from 35% to 45% based on category
• Applicable across the entire UT of Puducherry
• Offline application process through prescribed form available on the official website
Benefits
• Micro & Small Enterprises: 40% subsidy (max ₹40,00,000)
• Medium & Large Enterprises: 35% subsidy (max ₹35,00,000)
• Women/SC/ST Entrepreneurs: 45% subsidy (max ₹75,00,000)
Disbursement:
• In single or multiple instalments depending on fund availability
• Via financial institutions for loan-based units; directly to self-financed units
Eligibility
• Applies to Micro, Small, Medium, and Large Enterprises
• Applies to Women/SC/ST entrepreneurs fully owning the unit
• All directors/partners/shareholders must belong to the same category (if applicable)
• Units must have invested on or after 1st April 2017
• At least 60% employment must be provided to residents of Puducherry
• Fixed assets cannot be transferred or disposed of for 5 years
• Additional investments post-initial claim are also eligible within the ceiling limit
Special Cases:
Units with common ownership are considered separate if:
• Different location
• Separate licenses and registrations
Application Process
Mode: Offline
Step 1: Download prescribed form from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry
Step 2: Fill in the application form with all mandatory details
Step 3: Attach required documents (self-attested if needed)
Step 4: Submit to the concerned authority and request an acknowledgment
Post-Application Process
• Applications are scrutinized on merit by the Directorate
• Eligible proposals are placed before the State Level Committee
• Committee determines qualification and subsidy amount
Application Deadline
• Within 1 year from the date of commencement of commercial production
• Delay may be condoned by the State Level Committee
