Apply for the Tool Purchase Grant for Construction Workers in West Bengal

The “Tool Purchase Grant for the Construction Workers” scheme is a welfare initiative by the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, under the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal. It is designed to provide financial assistance to registered construction workers for the purchase of professional tools. This is a one-time reimbursement scheme for tools, upon submission of the original bill or voucher.

Eligibility

For Registration as a Building/Construction Worker:

• Must be a resident of West Bengal

• Must be a Building or Construction Worker

• Age must be between 18 and 60 years

• Must have worked at least 90 days in building/construction activities in a year

For Applying to the Welfare Scheme:

• Must be a registered member under the BOCW Welfare Board, West Bengal

• Must have at least 6 months of active membership

• Tools purchased must be relevant to the applicant’s profession

Application Process

Mode: Offline

Registration as a Construction Worker:

1. Request Form-27 from the Assistant Labour Commissioners (ALC) or Beneficiary Registering Officers

2. Attach required documents (self-attested if needed)

3. Submit the completed form to the ALC/ Registering Officer

4. Upon successful verification, the applicant is:

   • Registered as a beneficiary

   • Issued an identity card and passbook

   • Required to pay ₹20 registration fee + ₹30 annual subscription

5. Renewal: After one year, renew registration by:

   • Submitting Form-27A

   • Paying a renewal fee of ₹30

   • If not renewed in time, registration is cancelled and must be reapplied for

1. Collect application form from the ALC / Beneficiary Registering Officer

2. Attach the required documents and original bill/voucher of tools

3. Submit the completed form to the same office
