Under “Biju Patnaik Sports Award 2025” scheme, “Biju Patnaik Sports Award for Excellence in Coaching” makes for one of the other awards. The scheme started in 2001-2002 intends to honor the ex-Chief Minister of Odisha Late Biju Patnaik. Mr. Patnaik has contributed significantly to the development of sports and games in the state, by recognizing him with the highest award in the state by the Government of Odisha in the sports field. This award will be given to those coaches who have dedicated their entire professional lives to coaching in any of the major sports disciplines and who have also guided athletes in competitions at national and international levels.
